Overview The picturesque village of Lyndonville is in the town of Yates, in northwest Orleans County, set amidst orchards, fields and Amish farms. You’re almost equidistant to two state parks – Golden Hill State Park, to the northwest, and Lakeside Beach State Park, to the northeast. This is a quiet, agricultural community known for small-town charm and award-winning apples. It’s close to Lake Ontario, and the village has fewer than 1,000 residents, according to Census statistics. Johnson’s Creek flows through the village, and mills sprung up years ago in this community. The Lyndonville Central School District serves residents here. Yates borders Niagara County, so it’s a quick drive to Lockport and a little further to Niagara Falls, N.Y. Oak Orchard Harbor, with its bevy of fishing and boating activities, also is nearby, just to the northeast. The village of Medina, with its historic downtown and a well-known train museum, is a quick trip south of here. |
